Attached is a digital version of our new Block Watch Program Manual. These manuals were rolled in January as part of the RCMP’s re-branding and commitment to Block Watch. In this manual you will find information on:

• Captain, Co-Captain and participant responsibilities

• When to contact your Block Watch Coordinator

• Communication process

• When to call 911 vs non-emergency

• Code of conduct – This is something we have unfortunately had to implement. Every Captain and Co-Captain will be required to sign it.

As a matter of interest, Wills Creek Block Watch program has been up and running since 2015 and has been very successful. Your dedication and commitment to keeping Wills Creek safe has made a big difference in the reduction of crime in this area.

Keep in mind crime is transient and we are always vulnerable to opportunist but when a crime or suspicious activity is observed, it is important to call the police to report it.

As an example, just recently one of our owners observed what appeared to be suspicious activity but fortunately it turned out to be another owner who became a bit disorientated and required assistance. The Police attended and was able to help the individual. THIS IS WHAT BLOCK WATCH IS ALL ABOUT-neighbours helping neighbours and watching our for each other.

I would also like to take the time to thanks our other Captains and Co-Captains in our complex, Paul Ballinger, Darrien Matthews, Iowna Allison and Alan Reynolds who are an integral part of the program. Thank you.

If you are new to our community and you have not been signed up for Block Watch, please contact myself or one of our other Captains/Co-Captains.
