Friends and Homeowners,
Soon 2019 will be in the history books.
Like every year, 2019 was not without challenges, but as a community we were able to meet those challenges head on and deal with them effectively.
This year started off, with three legal challenges, which were complex in nature and required a lot of attention by your strata council and our property management group.
Last year was also a year of great success for Wills Creek. With the cancellation of the Corix contract, we have now taken ownership of the geothermal system which means a huge financial benefit for the owners. Just last week the final papers were received bring this process to a successful conclusion.
We were also successful bringing to a legal challenge brought on by a homeowner, against the strata corporation to an amicable resolution. And most recently at our SGM, the homeownership voted in favour of terminating the current legal challenge against the warranty provider. Therefore, we will end 2019 with no legal challenges on record. This will mark the first time in over 4 years, that Wills Creek will not have to deal with any legal challenges.
I would also like to bring to everyone’s attention, the strong contribution which your committees bring to the efficient operation of our strata complex, whilst keeping all corners of the strata engaged and connected, for all homeowners to enjoy. Please join me in thanking all our committee members for their volunteer work in 2019.
And this end of year note would not be complete without acknowledging the hard work put forth by your council members and that of Kelly Raby, ReMax Property Management. Your council has worked through some very challenging and complex issues, their dedication to this strata, their focused attention and sacrifices to personal time, has allowed us to close out 2019 on a very positive note. Thank you all for a job well done!
This is the last weekend of 2019 and of this decade. In two short days, we will usher in 2020 a new Year and a new decade. A fresh start for Wills Creek , new ideas, new concepts, new directions and a renewed energy.
Strata Council and I would like to wish you and your families, a healthy and prosperous 2020.
