You are lucky if you have not experienced problems with your Fisher & Paykel refrigerator ice maker. If you have, read on…

Recently I experienced a problem with my Fisher & Paykel refrigerator which displays a fault code F24. Research revealed this was related to a problem with the ice maker. The most common problem being a broken sensor wire in ice maker mechanism. You can see if the wire is broken by pulling out the freezer drawer and looking up at the ice maker assembly. However, this simple fix can also be extremely costly if you need to call in a repairman. See the you tube video link on the “how to” solution. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEIfr276SQk

Note: If you are experiencing problems with you appliance, it is highly recommended you contact a qualified technician for repairs.

  1. Hi there, thank you for this information.

On the topic of the ice maker, how long does it usually take the machine to fill the bucket with ice? We emptied it on the 30th to start fresh and it’s not even half full nearly 5 days later. Once upon a time ago I had a fridge that would basically fill the entire freezer with ice in 24 hours.

    Cheers!

  2. It should be full by now, if not try a reset following the instructions on the video. You will hear the ice machine empty and that should reset it.

  3. Thanks Tom! It seems to keep the bucket about half full. Guess we can’t go overboard with ice 🙂

    Beautiful weather!
