The following post is sent on behalf of the RCMP Block Watch Coordinator for South Surrey

*********************************************

Good afternoon Block Watch groups!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend and stayed relatively dry! Please send this email along with attachments to your fellow Block Watch members.

Attachments:

1- Join our TEAM! Surrey RCMP is looking for new volunteers! See attached Surrey RCMP news release or check out our Surrey RCMP website for qualifications.

2- Emergency Preparedness Block Watch Bulletin- In light of recent storms and the Tsunami warnings it’s a good time to get organized. Links to our Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program are in the attachment.
3- Block Watch reporting- It’s important for all members of your group to know this number so they can advise the call taker when making their report, and for your members to be eligible for a home insurance discount (depending on your provider). [Wills Creek Block Watch Number is 5-381]
NOTICE- Reporting Code D5_Form_1 copy
Reminders:
* We have seen an increase in theft from mailboxes over the last couple of weeks. Whenever possible, pick up your mail daily or switch to online billing. If you see any suspicious people or vehicles please report to the police right away, try and take note of vehicle descriptions/license plates, direction of travel etc.

* We are still seeing reports of residential Break and Enters happening with entry being made using garage door openers that have been left in vehicles. Please remove those every night. Your garage door opener is essentially a key to your house.

*Non-Emergency 604-599-0502 or 911 for emergencies/crimes in progress

Thank you for all that you do,

Leanne
